Roberto Martinez wants Everton to replicate the momentum and intensity showed in their 3-0 win over Newcastle United on Tuesday in their upcoming game against Fulham on Sunday.

Goals from Ross Barkley, Romelu Lukaku and Leon Osman at St. James' Park handed the Toffees their 16th Premier League win of the season as they moved into fifth spot with 57 points from 30 games.

Everton are now just six points shy of fourth-placed Arsenal, who have played a game more than the Merseyside club.

However Martinez, who does not want his side to get carried away, underlined the importance of picking up points at the crucial juncture of the season.

Hence the Spaniard wants Everton to claim the full three points against a relegation-battling Fulham team at the weekend.

"[The three points] are really important but that's not the end of the season”, Martinez explained to his club’s official site.

"We've been working really hard for the last 10 months and you can see the team is ready to give everything in every game and make every single Evertonian proud.

"We'll see how many points that gives us.

"Now we need to refresh and regenerate for Fulham. It'll be a completely different game but we'll have to bring the same momentum and intensity that we showed [at Newcastle]."
