The agent of 1.FC Nurnberg striker Josip Drmic has dubbed continued speculation linking his client with Arsenal as "far-fetched".

Germany legend Lothar Matthaus has insisted that Drmic is heading to Arsenal this coming summer for a fee of €9.7m, the deal having been all but done.

Matthaus also claimed that Drmic's wife is looking for an apartment in London, something which led the player himself to explain he does not have a wife nor a girlfriend, quashing the talk a woman is in London setting up accommodation for him.

Matthaus has again repeated his claim, blasting that as in the case of Borussia Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski going to Bayern Munich, time will prove him right.

That has led the Switzerland international's agent to have his say.

Drmic's agent Volker Struth told German daily Bild: "This speculation is totally far-fetched."

The striker is thought to have a clause in his contract which will allow him to leave for just €5m if Nurnberg are relegated from the Bundesliga this term.

The Franconian club sit only two points ahead of the drop zone at present.
