Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge expects teams to copy the Sunderland pattern when meeting them for the rest of the season.

The Reds eked out a 2-1 win over Sunderland at Anfield on 26th March, enduring a nervy time as the Black Cats defended deeply, trying to hit Liverpool on the counter attack.

The Reds met a more expansive Tottenham Hotspur at the weekend, running out 4-0 winners at Anfield. But Sturridge expects future opponents to attempt to copy the Sunderland game plan.

"You saw it against Sunderland that teams will come and be really compact, and try to close down all the spaces against us", Sturridge explained to his club's site.

"That makes it difficult. But from now it is all about the results, that's all that matters, so we won't worry about anything else", the striker continued.

"The important thing is just to keep working hard as a team and if we do that, I am sure we will continue to get the results.

"There are still six games to go, every one of them huge, so we will not get too excited just yet."

Liverpool, who sit top of the Premier League table, are next in action on Sunday away at Upton Park against West Ham.
