The agent of Swansea City defender Ashley Williams has admitted that if an offer arrives from Napoli for his client then it will be a subject for discussion.

Napoli are on the lookout for a new centre-back and Williams has been mooted as a possible target for the Italian giants in the upcoming summer transfer window.

At present, Williams' agent Peter Smith insists the situation is purely at the speculation stage. Yet the defender's representative is clear that his client could learn much from Napoli coach Rafael Benitez.

"Clearly we are talking about a great club and a coach of international stature", he was quoted as saying by Napoli Calcio Live.

"So we would sit down and discuss it, from Benitez you can learn a lot.

"But as long as it's not a practical option, it is useless to talk about it.

"The player is now only thinking about Swansea. All the rest is just speculation."

The 29-year-old joined Swansea from Stockport County in 2008 and has helped the club become established in the Premier League, along with winning the League Cup last term.

Williams has won 45 caps for Wales to date.
