Tottenham Hotspur’s young midfielder Milos Veljkovic was ecstatic after making his Premier League debut with the Liliywhites during their 5-1 over Sunderland at the White Hart Lane on Monday.

The Serbian-born youngster, who has featured as an unused substituted in several games this season, was introduced onto the field to replace Paulinho in the 87th minute.

“It has always been my dream to play for such a big club and, seriously, I can’t find the words to describe this moment”, the 18-year-old was quoted as saying by Tottenham’s official site.

“Since I came to this club when I was 15 it was always my goal to come on and finally it happened against Sunderland. It’s my first step and hopefully I can go on and play many more games in the future.

“It’s a pleasure to play with these players”, he added.

“Seriously, they are world class players and I’m so happy to play alongside them.

“It was important to get the win for us and for the fans and afterwards everyone was really happy. It was a great evening.

By virtue of the win, Tim Sherwood’s side moved to sixth in the Premier League table, two points ahead of seventh-placed Manchester United, and will be hoping to cement their spot in the Europa League next year when they face West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.
