Manchester City are looking to tempt Spanish striker Ayoze Perez away from Tenerife to England next summer, according to AS.

The 20-year-old striker has scored 16 goals in 29 appearances for Tenerife in Spain’s second tier.

The Spaniard’s performances for the Islanders have caught the eye of some big European clubs and Manchester City are looking to steal a march in the race to sign the young forward.

It was recently claimed that Spanish giants Real Madrid have already made contact with Tenerife to negotiate a possible deal to take Perez to the Spanish capital.

A Tenerife youth product, Perez has progressed through the ranks at the Canary Island club and played for their B team last season, before getting promoted to the senior team this season.

Tenerife are currently seventh in the league table on 48 points from 33 games played and are fighting for a place in the playoff to earn promotion to La Liga.
