Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling has hailed the club’s fans for the loyal support they have shown the players throughout the season, especially during the Reds’ 3-2 victory over fellow title contenders Manchester City at Anfield on Sunday.

The players have been received raptureously by the fans during their previous two outings at the home ground against Sunderlamd and Tottenham Hotspur with a roaring welcome. The roads leading up to the ground were also lined up with flags and banners and Sterling said that the atmosphere has been unbelievable.

"The Sunderland game was really good, but there were triple the supporters out there [on Sunday]. It was a great feeling. It was a great atmosphere today and I'm happy to be part of this football club”, he added.

Brendan Rodgers’ side are leading the Premier League table, two points ahead of second-placed Chelsea and look en-route to their first title win in 24 years. They play Norwich City on Sunday and will be hoping to continue their lead before they face Jose Mourinho’s side on 27th April in what could be the title-decider.
