Fiorentina have made contact with Manchester United to start negotiations over signing midfielder Anderson on a permanent basis.

La Viola snapped up the Brazilian on loan from Manchester United in January and have been impressed with the player. So much so that they are now keen to ensure his stay is a permanent one.

According to Italian daily La Nazione, Fiorentina have now started to talk to the Red Devils over Anderson and are hoping to negotiate a lower fee than the €6m which had been previously agreed as a purchase option.

Fiorentina believe their chances of gaining a discount are high, with Anderson not appearing to form part of Manchester United manager David Moyes' plans for next term.
