West Ham United boss Sam Allardyce is frustrated after his side went down after an early goal to lose 3-1 against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday, feeling they were not outplayed.

Matt Jarvis’ header put the visitors ahead in the first half, but Lukas Podolski levelled it for the Gunners just four minutes later.

An Olivier Giroud strike just ten minutes into the second half saw the Gunners take the lead and they looked nowhere close to conceding another as a second from Podolski saw Arsene Wenger’s men clinch an important three points to regain fourth spot in the Premier League.

But Allardyce is disappointed after his side failed to build upon their first half lead, and gave the game away to Arsenal.

"Many times you play at Arsenal and you come away and can't complain about the result because they have completely outplayed you, but this time I am complaining about errors we have made at vital times that they have punished”, he told West Ham’s official site.

"I suppose the difference, at the end of the day, was that we didn't punish the errors that Arsenal made – and they made a lot of errors, for them. They punished us more than we punished them and that's why they won."

The Irons will be hoping to maintain 11th position in the league table, one down from last season, when they host 12th placed Crystal Palace on Saturday.
