Spanish outfit Real Sociedad have extended the contract of manager Jagoba Arrasate by another two years as a reward for the good work he has been doing with the team.

La Liga's youngest manager at 35, Arrasate took charge of the senior team after the former boss Philippe Montanier left the club last summer.

Arrasate's achievements include leading the side to a fourth place finish last year, eventually qualifying for the qualification round of the Champions League.

A win against French outfit Lyon in the stage meant that the team also made it to the group stage of the tournament for the 2013/14 season.

However, they failed to make it beyond the group stage, ending at the bottom of Group A behind leaders Manchester United, Bayer Leverkusen and Shakhtar Donetsk.

Txuri-urdin are currently placed seventh in the Spanish league with 51 points from 33 matches making them contenders for next year's Europa League.

The new contract will tie Arrasate down with the club until June 2016.
