Brendan Rodgers insists that Liverpool are not celebrating the Premier League title yet, despite being in pole position to win their first top flight title since 1990.

Liverpool's title hopes were boosted last night when Manchester City could only draw at home to Sunderland, leaving the Citizens six points behind Rodgers' men, with a game in hand.

Chelsea sit second, two points behind Liverpool, but the Reds still have to play Jose Mourinho's men at Anfield.

Rodgers though will not hear talk suggesting Liverpool have one hand on the title, telling a press conference today: "We don't have our hands up in the air.

"The finish line is still a wee bit out.

"We need to keep producing the performances that we have and the character that we have and if we do that we'll hopefully take three points at the weekend [against Norwich].

"We never get too carried away", he added.

Liverpool's remaining games this season see them play Norwich (away), Chelsea (home), Crystal Palace (away) and Newcastle (home).

If Rodgers' men win all four they will finish on 89 points and be out of any side's reach.
