Radamel Falcao will be fit for the World Cup, so says the surgeon who operated on the Colombian striker.

The Monaco man injured his cruciate ligaments in his knee while on French Cup duty in January, something which instantly put his participation at Brazil in doubt.

But Jose Carlos Noronha, who operated on the 28-year-old, feels that he can go to the World Cup, even though at the start of the tournament he may not be fully fit.

"I think he will go to the World Cup", Noronha explained to Lusa.

"At the highest level, at the beginning of the competition, Falcao may not be 100 per cent", he added.

Falcao managed 17 games in Ligue 1 for Monaco before picking up his injury, finding the back of the net on nine occasions.

Colombia will consider it a big boost if they are able to select the former Atletico Madrid hitman.
