Manchester United are keeping quiet on intense talk that they are about to sack manager David Moyes.

The Red Devils went down to a 2-0 defeat away at Moyes' old club Everton yesterday, a result which made certain the club's absence from next season's Champions League.

The loss was Manchester United's eleventh in the Premier League so far this season, with the club sitting just seventh in the standings.

Earlier today reports began to appear across the English media claiming that Moyes is now set to be sacked.

The club made no comment on the reports when contacted by the BBC, but doubt continues to grow over Moyes' continued presence in the dugout at Old Trafford.

The Scot was handpicked by Sir Alex Ferguson to take over last season, but could be set for less than 12 months' in charge at the English champions.
