AC Milan’s young defender Mattia De Sciglio admits that he is flattered by Real Madrid’s interest in him, but insists that any transfer will happen only if Milan decide to sell him.

De Sciglio joined Milan as a youngster and went on to make his professional debut for the Rossoneri in 2011.

"It's nice to have interest from teams like Real Madrid. I hope to play for a competitive Milan as in the past, although in football you never know”, the 21-year-old told Sky Italia.

The Italian international admits that if Milan decide to sell him for financial reasons then he will consider offers from other clubs, but at the moment he is happy with the Rossoneri.

“If the club were to decide, for economic reasons, to sell me, I would study the offers on the table."

Manchester United were also said to be interested in the young Italian defender, but with the sacking of David Moyes this morning things might have changed on the red side of Manchester.

At the age of 21 De Sciglio has already made nine appearances for the Italian national team and is expected to be part of the squad that will travel to Brazil this summer for the World Cup.
