Arsene Wenger has revealed that Abou Diaby could play for the Arsenal first team before the end of the season, even though he has warned not too much should be expected of the Frenchman.

Diaby has been plagued with injuries in recent years and has not played for Arsenal since March last year.

The midfielder could well turn out for the club's Under-21s against their Chelsea counterparts this evening however, something which would mark a stepping up of his comeback.

And if Diaby can pass that test without issue, Wenger may well fast-track him into the senior side before the end of the campaign.
