David Moyes has been sacked as the manager of Manchester United.

Following Sunday's 2-0 defeat at Everton, which put the seal on a campaign which will now definitely see the Red Devils not finish in the top four, the club's board have decided to act.




Manchester United said in a statement: "Manchester United announces that David Moyes has left the club.

"The club would like to place on record its thanks for the hard work, honesty and integrity he brought to the role."

The Red Devils will now commence their search for a successor, with Holland coach Louis van Gaal amongst the front-runners, along with Borussia Dortmund's Jurgen Klopp and Atletico Madrid's Diego Simeone.

Moyes managed to last less than a year at Old Trafford.
