West Ham United defender James Tomkins has stressed the importance of the club's next fixture against West Brom to guarantee survival for the Hammers in the Premier League.

West Ham suffered a 1-0 home defeat at the hands of Crystal Palace last Saturday at Upton Park.

Tomkins admits that the game against West Brom will be tough as they are fighting for their survival in the Premier League and West Ham are also not quite out of the relegation dogfight.

"Of course it will be a tough match at West Brom next week, as they are fighting for points to stay up and we're not quite there yet mathematically”, the 25-year-old told the club’s official site.
