Louis van Gaal has given his blessing to Manchester United presenting him with Toni Kroos when he takes charge at Old Trafford, with the Red Devils running the Germany midfielder past the current Holland coach.

Kroos has been on Manchester United's wishlist all season and former boss David Moyes was keen to welcome the German to the club.

Van Gaal, who has agreed to take over at Manchester United after the World Cup, has been asked about signing Kroos, according to Dutch daily De Telegraaf, and has given the swoop his blessing.

One of Kroos' representatives, Sascha Breese, was at Old Trafford yesterday for talks over his client with the Manchester United hierarchy.

Bayern Munich have consistently claimed however that they do not want to sell Kroos, despite the midfielder having a contract which expires in 2015.

Talks over a new deal for the 24-year-old have been placed on hold until after the World Cup.

The Bavarians, a club Van Gaal used to manager, could change their stance if Kroos demands a move to Manchester United though.
