Manchester United have sent scouts to watch 66 per cent of William Carvalho's games for Sporting Lisbon this season, but it remains unclear whether the departure of David Moyes as manager has affected the Red Devils' desire to sign the midfielder.

The English champions have been linked with launching a bid to take the Portugal international to Old Trafford in the summer, with William's agent reported to have been at the club's training ground in recent months.

Barcelona, Real Madrid, Manchester City, Inter, Monaco and Paris Saint-Germain have also all had William watched regularly, but no club beat Manchester United for the amount of trips to watch the starlet, according to Portuguese daily Record.

However, former Manchester United manager Moyes' departure has cast into doubt whether the Red Devils will launch a big-money swoop.
