Former Chelsea manager Roberto Di Matteo is in line to succeed Armin Veh at Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt.

Veh has opted not to renew his contract at the club, leaving the door open for Di Matteo to dip his toe into the Bundesliga pool.

Die Adler are keen on Di Matteo, who led Chelsea to Champions League success in 2012, while the Italian is open to the switch.

"It is not the case that he is waiting for an absolute top club", Di Matteo's agent Elio Basci told SportBild.

"He is open to everything and will listen to everything. In football things can happen very quickly.

"The Bundesliga is certainly a possibility for Roberto. But so is Serie A too, just like the Spanish league."

Di Matteo has been out of work since parting company with Chelsea in 2012. The 43-year-old has also managed MK Dons and West Brom.
