Sebastian Coates admits he does not know what the next step in his Liverpool career is.

The Uruguayan centre-back is on loan in his homeland with Nacional Montevideo, bidding to clock up regular first team football following his recovery from a serious knee injury.

Coates, who only managed five Premier League appearances for Liverpool last season, suffered the injury while on international duty in August last year.

Liverpool decided to ship him back to former club Nacional to continue his recovery earlier this year. And Coates is not sure whether there is still a place for him back at Anfield.

"You have to wait for the right time", he added.

Coates joined Liverpool in 2011 on the back of a successful Copa America which Uruguay won.
