Nicklas Helenius' days at Aston Villa are numbered, the player's agent has revealed.

The Danish striker was snapped up by Villa from AaB last summer, however has struggled to make his mark and is now destined to ply his trade in pastures new in 2014/15.

The striker's agent, Mads Bech Lund, said via Twitter: "Aston Villa do not expect to have Nicklas Helenius as part of their squad for next season.

"Too bad, but now we must look forward rather than back.

"Nicklas has done his best, but there are many reasons behind the decision.

"But it has been a good learning experience and he's a stronger player now."

Helenius only managed to make seven appearances for Aston Villa over the course of this season, scoring just once, in the FA Cup.

The striker's agent has previously revealed Helenius would be interested in a return to AaB.
