Bayern Munich striker Thomas Muller has stoked the fires of speculation linking him with Manchester United by admitting he has a special relationship with Louis van Gaal.

The current Holland coach will take over as Manchester United manager after the World Cup on a three-year contract and, having worked with Muller at Bayern Munich, has been linked with seeking a reunion at Old Trafford.

Muller, who was brought into the Bayern Munich team on a regular basis under Van Gaal, has much time for the 62-year-old.

"It is no secret that Louis van Gaal and I had what was a special player-coach relationship", the Germany international told Bild.

However, Muller is not willing to openly push for a departure from the Allianz Arena and claims there is "nothing better" than paying for the Bavarians.

"I have a contract at Bayern until 2017.

"I like playing at Bayern, there's really nothing better."

Muller has scooped the Bundesliga and German Cup with Bayern Munich this season and is now setting his sights on the World Cup with Germany.
