Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that custodian Heurelho Gomes is set to leave the club upon the expiration of his contract next month.

The goalkeeper joined Spurs from PSV Eindhoven in 2008 and has amassed 135 appearances in all competitions for the north London club.

The 33-year-old helped Tottenham to qualify for the Champions League in the 2009/10 season and was also part of the team which reached the quarter-finals of the continental tournament the following season.

However the Brazilian, who spent the latter part of last season on loan to German side Hoffenheim, has fallen down the pecking order at White Hart Lane behind Hugo Lloris and Brad Friedel in recent years.
