Real Madrid are determined to keep hold of Raphael Varane amid interest from Jose Mourinho's Chelsea.

The English side are selling David Luiz to Paris Saint-Germain, putting them in the market for a new centre-back.

Enquiries have been made for Varane, who Mourinho signed for Real Madrid during his spell at the Bernabeu, however according to Tutto Mercato, they have been thoroughly rebuffed.

Indeed, the newly-crowned European champions do not want to part with Varane, who they see as a key player for the future.

Chelsea may still firm up their interest in Varane with an offer, but it is unlikely Real Madrid will change their stance on the France international.

The 21-year-old joined Real Madrid in 2011 from French side Lens for a fee of around €10m.

Varane's contract at the Bernabeu runs until the summer of 2017.
