Cagliari sporting director Nicola Salerno has revealed that he is quite likely to follow club owner Massimo Cellino to English side Leeds United.

Cellino recently acquired 75 per cent of the Yorkshire giants and is now in advanced talks with two parties to sell Cagliari, as he has declared he cannot focus on two clubs.

The Italian businessman has been linked with raiding Cagliari for a number of players to help Leeds' push for promotion to the Premier League next season. But the most crucial signing may be off the pitch, in the form of deal-maker Salerno.

"My future depends on what he [Cellino] decides", Salerno explained to Goal su Goal on Liratv.

"I have a personal and friendly relationship [with Cellino] and it is probable that I will go to Leeds."

Any Salerno switch to Leeds would undoubtedly mean a rejigging of the club structure, with the Cagliari sporting director likely to take responsibility for arranging signings.

A number of players could move from Cagliari to Leeds – and Salerno may oil the wheels.
