Serge Aurier's agent has squashed talk that his client has agreed to join Arsenal and thrown another English club into the mix to rival the Gunners, thought to be Liverpool.

Aurier has been strongly linked with joining the Gunners this summer on account of the fact that Bacary Sagna is departing when his contract expires; the former Auxerre man has opted for a new challenge away from the Emirates Stadium.

The Toulouse right-back is highly rated by Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger and has been tipped to easily slip into Sagna's shoes.

However, the player's agent Stephane Courbis has come clean on the current state of play, putting thoughts of any agreement with Arsenal firmly to bed.

"There is no agreement with Arsenal or anyone else", he told French radio station RMC.

"There have been discussions with Arsenal in the past, but it's been a while since any communication.

"To tell you the truth, we are even talking to another English club, so there is really nothing to act upon."

At present Aurier is preparing for the World Cup with the Ivory Coast and it remains to be seen if a deal to sign the defender will be thrashed out before the conclusion of the tournament in Brazil.
