Hamburg are ready to allow Rafael van der Vaart to leave the club this summer if QPR come knocking for the Dutch midfielder.

Redknapp, who signed Van der Vaart during his time in charge of Tottenham Hotspur, has been linked with moving to snap up the Dutchman once again as he bids to equip QPR for life back in the Premier League.

And if Redknapp should go knocking at Hamburg's door, they will find a club receptive to offloading the Dutchman, according to the Hamburger Morgenpost.

Van der Vaart is one of the club's top earners and offloading the 31-year-old would ease pressure on the Hamburg wage bill.

The former Real Madrid man has a contract with the Bundesliga outfit which runs until 2015.

Hamburg struggled against relegation from the Bundesliga in the recently concluded season, needing a relegation playoff against Greuther Furth to book their spot in the German top flight for next term.

Van der Vaart joined Hamburg in 2012, leaving Tottenham Hotspur to link up with the Bundesliga club for the second time in his career. He had previously played for the club between 2005 and 2008.
