Napoli are making further plans for life without goalkeeper Pepe Reina by focusing in on Costa Rica custodian Keylor Navas.

Reina spent last season on loan at Napoli from Liverpool, however the Azzurri believe keeping him on a permanent basis is unaffordable.

And they are looking elsewhere with Navas, who plays for Levante in La Liga, under the microscope, according to Sky Italia.

Navas has been in superb form at the World Cup in Brazil, helping Costa Rica stun both Uruguay and Italy in the group stage.

And the 27-year-old has been praised for his exploits between the sticks as Costa Rica have punched above their weight on the world stage.

Navas made the journey to European football in 2010 to join Spanish side Albacete.

He then moved on to Levante, first on loan, in 2011.
