Ander Herrera's agent insists he has heard nothing concrete from Chelsea about signing his client, suggesting the Spaniard will stay put at Athletic Bilbao.

Herrera came close to joining Manchester United last summer, but ultimately remained at the San Mames when the Red Devils refused to meet his buy-out clause.

However, speculation of an exit has not left the midfielder, with talk of a move in the summer transfer window.

But Arturo Canales, a representative of Herrera, has rubbished such suggestions, claiming to have not fielded any concrete enquiries about his client.

"There have been rumours all year about him being signed this summer and that [Jose] Mourinho wanted him at Chelsea, but I have not heard anything", he was quoted as saying by Marca.

"His focus is on Athletic and nothing more."

Herrera's contract with the Basque outfit runs until the summer of 2016.

He clocked up 33 appearances in La Liga last season, scoring five goals and providing six assists.
