Alberto Moreno has claimed he has never wanted to leave Sevilla, as his chances of a transfer to Premier League giants Liverpool recede.

Liverpool had been pushing hard to snap up the Spain international left-back, with Moreno even agreeing the outline of a five-year contract at Anfield.

But the Reds got cold feet over paying £20m to sign the defender and began to look at other options.

Sevilla sporting director Monchi has explained he does not believe the deal can be revived. And Moreno himself insists he has always wanted to stay put.

"This is something that everyone knows", Moreno told ABC de Sevilla, claiming he wants to stay with Los Rojiblancos.
