Dutch Eredivisie side Vitesse have admitted that Chelsea will not renew the loan of winger Christian Atsu, meaning they will be without his services next term.
Atsu signed for Chelsea last summer from FC Porto, but was quickly shipped out to Vitesse on a season-long loan deal.
The Ghana international earned rave reviews with the Arnhem-based club and made 26 appearances in the Eredivisie, scoring five goals and providing six assists for his team-mates.
Vitesse would have liked to have welcomed the 22-year-old back for another season, but Chelsea are eyeing loaning him to a club in a bigger league and club coach Peter Bosz has given up the chase.
"Atsu will not return to Vitesse", Bosz told Voetbal International.

Vitesse finished sixth in the Eredivisie last term.
