Portuguese midfielder Tiago is heading for his second spell with Chelsea, following the expiration of his contract with Atletico Madrid.

Tiago's deal at the Vicente Calderon ended yesterday and he has been made an attractive offer to link up with countryman Jose Mourinho at Stamford Bridge.




According to Spanish daily Marca, Tiago will sign a two-year contract with Chelsea, the club he played for between 2004 and 2005.

From Chelsea, Tiago joined French giants Lyon, before then heading to play his football in Italy with Juventus.

 


Tiago initially joined Atletico Madrid on loan in 2010 before making the move to Spain permanent a year later.

The 33-year-old won the Spanish title with Atletico Madrid this season, along with helping Los Rojiblancos reach the final of the Champions League, knocking Chelsea out at the semi-final stage.

Tiago won 58 caps for Portugal between 2002 and 2010.
