Feyenoord and Southampton are involved in a standoff over striker Graziano Pelle, with the English Premier League side unwilling to go above the €8m mark.

Pelle is keen to link up with former Feyenoord coach Ronald Koeman at Southampton, however Feyenoord are unhappy with the bid on the table and are hoping to raise more than €8m from selling the Italian, according to Dutch daily De Telegraaf.

Feyenoord had been hoping for more clubs to join the bidding for Pelle, with some interest from Spain and Germany.

However, the only sides to push for the striker at present have been from Russia, a move that Pelle is not willing to make.

Pelle was not present at Feyenoord's annual charity gala last night, a further sign he intends to quit the club, although he is still training with the Rotterdam outfit as he wants to be as fit as possible upon arrival at Southampton.

Feyenoord are now facing a difficult situation over Pelle, who they know is desperate to move to St. Mary's.

The Dutch giants would like the process resolved before they begin their attempt to qualify for the Champions League later this month.
