Roma are in negotiations to sign former Chelsea striker Samuel Eto’o this summer.

Eto’o is a free agent after leaving Chelsea at the start of this month and indicated earlier last month that he wanted to continue to play in Europe.

Despite his age, the veteran striker is still attracting interest from various European clubs and the likes of Fiorentina, AC Milan and Galatasaray have already been linked with a move for him.

Roma have maintained an interest in the Cameroonian since he indicated earlier this year that he would leave Chelsea this summer.

Eto’o wants a two-year contract and €4m per season in wages, but Roma are willing to offer a one-year contract with €3m in wages plus a performance related bonus, according to Corriere della Sera.
