Leeds United owner Massimo Cellino has revealed that he had no choice but to sell striker Ross McCormack after the player "disrespected" him.

The 27-year-old had signed a new four-year contract with the Peacocks last summer, but was sold to Championship rivals Fulham today following a fallout with the owner.

The Scotland international finalised his move this morning, signing a four-year contract with Fulham, with the option of extending the deal for one more year.

It was only last week that Cellino had confirmed that the striker was not for sale, but an amazing turn of events saw the player missing the team's summer training camp in Italy, eventually being sold.

"I like to be in control of situations but it felt like he wasn't my player", Cellino told the Yorkshire Evening Post.

"I was disrespected, he was aggressive with me.

"He didn't turn up for the tour and all the time he wanted to go from here. It wasn't in my mind to sell McCormack, it wasn't my plan, but I had no choice.

"He's a bloody good player and I'm not going to pretend that he isn't but he didn't respect me and it wasn't possible to keep him."
