Nicklas Helenius has sealed a season-long loan move from Aston Villa to former club AaB, and is delighted.

Helenius joined Aston Villa from AaB only last summer, but struggled to force his way into Paul Lambert's plans, even being overlooked when Christian Benteke suffered a season-ending injury in the latter half of the campaign.

Now the Danish striker has returned home in search of regular first team football and he has dubbed the development a "dream".

"It is a dream for me to return home to AaB and I am extremely pleased that it has fallen into place", the 23-year-old told the Danish club's site.

"I know the style of play, which developed further over the season, and I look forward to once again being part of the squad at AaB, where I can contribute with goals and assists."

Helenius left AaB with a record of 40 goals in 102 games and returns to take up his old shirt number, 11.

The striker has won two caps for Denmark.
