Tottenham Hotspur are considering offering a deal to former Chelsea striker Samuel Eto'o, who is prepared to look favourably upon staying in the English Premier League.

Eto'o left Chelsea at the end of last month when his contract at Stamford Bridge came to an end and is currently on the lookout for a new club.

The Cameroon international has ruled out playing outside Europe, leaving clubs from the MLS, Australia and Asia out in the cold.

He may be poised to field an offer from Tottenham which would see him remain in England with, according to Sky Italia, the White Hart Lane outfit considering him as a potential replacement for Emmanuel Adebayor, if the Togo striker leaves.

Eto'o is not short of suitors and has already been linked with heading back to Italy, where he previously turned out for Inter.
