Aston Villa and West Ham have both enquired about the availability of Malaga midfielder Sergi Darder, according to Spanish daily Marca.

Malaga have already lost goalkeeper Willy Caballero to Manchester City this summer and have also been fielding interest in left-back Vitorino Anatunes.

But now young midfielder Darder has dropped onto the radar of two English Premier League clubs in the form of Aston Villa and West Ham.

No offers have yet arrived for the 20-year-old, but his agent has been sounded out by interested parties.

Malaga though are not keen on selling the starlet and have him locked down to a contract which runs until 2017.

Darder himself is also believed to be happy to continue his development with Malaga, rather than seek a quick exit abroad.

The midfielder has been capped for Spain at Under-17, Under-18 and Under-21 level and was captured by Malaga from Espanyol in 2011.
