Tottenham Hotspur sporting director Franco Baldini is working on two deals in his native Italy, according to Italian broadcaster Sportitalia.

Baldini, who had been tipped for the White Hart Lane exit door at points last season, is busily putting into place manager Mauricio Pochettino's plans.

The deal-maker has renewed contact with Napoli over the sale of Brazilian midfielder Sandro, who the Azzurri had chased earlier this summer.

Spurs are now thought to be willing to accept around €12m for the former Internacional man, much less than Napoli were previously quoted.

Baldini is also working on a potential incoming, setting his sights on Roma forward Mattia Destro.

Roma are not keen on selling the Italy international, but Baldini may be set to test their resolve by submitting an official offer for the player over the next week.

The 22-year-old joined Roma in 2012 from Siena, with sky high expectations.

Spurs could offload misfiring Spaniard Roberto Soldado to help finance a bid for Destro.
