Trapani have announced that they are unwilling to sell striker Matteo Mancosu, despite the player having been linked with both Cagliari and Leeds United.

Mancosu was in prolific form for Trapani last season, scoring 28 goals in all competition for the club, as they steered well clear of relegation from Serie B.

He had been strongly linked with Leeds, while Cagliari also pushed hard to snap up the player, with the Rossoblu being in pole position on account of being Mancosu's boyhood club.

But Trapani say he will not leave.

"Trapani Calcio announces that it has taken Matteo Mancosu off the transfer market and he therefore remains an important member of the squad", the club said in a statement.
