AC Milan CEO Adriano Galliani has insisted that Arsenal have not submitted a bid to sign Mario Balotelli.

The Gunners were strongly linked with making a move for Balotelli earlier this summer, something which forced Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger to deny he was hunting the former Manchester City man.

However, the speculation has not gone away, especially in light of Arsenal's withdrawal from the race to sign Loic Remy from QPR; Remy is now on his way to Liverpool.

But Galliani is clear the Gunners have not rekindled their interest in Balotelli.

"Balotelli to Arsenal? We have not received any offer and at the moment there is nothing", the Milan deal-maker said before his side met Monza in a pre-season friendly.

Milan came through their friendly, beating Monza 2-0 as they continue their build-up to the new Serie A campaign.

Balotelli bagged 14 goals in 30 Serie A games for Milan last term, then heading to the World Cup with Italy.

However, the striker returned to his homeland with criticism ringing in his ears as he was unable to help the Azzurri progress beyond the group stage in Brazil, with games lost to Costa Rica and Uruguay.
