Goalkeeper David Ospina will sign a five-year contract with Arsenal, after the Gunners agreed a fee of around €4m to sign the Colombia international from Nice.

Arsenal have been hunting a new goalkeeper following the summer departures of Lukasz Fabianski and Emiliano Viviano, something which has sent boss Arsene Wenger raiding his native France for the solution.

Last season's FA Cup winners agreed a fee for Ospina with Nice yesterday and the transfer has now taken a solid step forward.

Ospina will pen a five-year contract with Arsenal, according to French sports daily L'Equipe, depriving Nice of one of their most reliable performers.

The goalkeeper further enhanced his reputation at this summer's World Cup with Colombia.

Ospina's departure means Nice will now look to Joris Delle and Mounez Hassen as they seek to fill their number 1 spot.

The Arsenal-bound custodian joined Nice in 2008 and made 29 appearances in Ligue 1 for the south coast club last term.
