Serie A side Napoli have been in touch with the agent of free agent Samuel Eto'o to enquire about his current availability.

Eto'o quit Chelsea at the end of last season, with his contract at the English club expiring at the end of June.

The former Inter striker is still planning to play on at the highest level and has been linked with a number of clubs, from Roma in Italy to Tottenham Hotspur in England.

Now Rafael Benitez's Napoli have emerged as potentially another destination for the 33-year-old Cameroonian.

According to Italian daily Tuttosport, Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has personally made contact with Eto'o's agent to discover his situation.
