Chelsea new boy Cesc Fabregas has insisted on his need to build a good partnership with team-mate Fernando Torres at Stamford Bridge.

The two are part of Vicente del Bosque's Spanish national team and were in Brazil on international duty at the World Cup.

However, now that their duties with their country are over, the two have paired up yet again for Jose Mourinho's team for the first time at club level in their career.

While the 27-year-old is excited about the opportunity to play with the veteran striker, he also believes that their partnership can prove to be helpful for the Pensioners during next season.

"I started playing with Fernando when I was 18, on my debut for the Spanish national team", Fabregas told his club's official site.

"So we’ve been playing together for nine years.

"I really like playing with him. He’s really strong, he goes behind defenders and his movement off the ball is superb.

"I’m sure we’ll have a good partnership together."

Fabregas trained with his team-mates at Chelsea's Cobham training ground on Tuesday, before leaving for Austria for their European training camp.
