Manchester United goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard has praised the performances of debutants Reece James and Ander Herrera against LA Galaxy on Wednesday.

The Red Devils registered a thumping 7-0 win over the MLS outfit with goals from Danny Welbeck, Wayne Rooney, Ashley Young and James.

The Dane was impressed with the performance of academy product James, who scored a brace, and said that the youngster has a good future ahead of him.

“The manager said prove yourself and Reece did that”, the 30-year-old told the club’s official site.

“He played very well, both offensively and defensively. He’s a good player and a good kid – he wants to learn and get better. He has a bright future.”

Lindegaard also heaped praise on Man of the Match Herrera, who joined the club from Athletic Bilbao last month.

He added that the Spaniard’s performance on his debut for the club says a lot about the talent he possesses.

“It’s always special to make your debut for a club like this – it’s an experience that you keep for the rest of your life.

“I think they all did very well, Ander played 90 minutes and got Man of the Match and that says a lot about his quality.”

Luke Shaw, who joined Manchester United from Southampton this summer, also made his debut and played the first half before being replaced by James.
