Finnish striker Eero Markkanen is excited at the prospect of learning from Zinedine Zidane after it was confirmed that he will join Real Madrid Castilla from Swedish outfit AIK Stockholm.

AIK announced earlier this week that they have reached an agreement with Real Madrid for the transfer of Markkanen.

Zidane took over the reins of Real Madrid’s reserve side earlier this summer and the 23-year-old becomes his first signing.

"Coming to AIK was a dream come true", Markkanen said in a statement issued by AIK announcing the move.

"Thanks to hard work, my team mates, Mr. Alm [AIK coach Andres Alm] and his coaching staff, another dream is now coming true."

Although he is joining Los Blancos’ reserve side, the striker is excited at the prospect of working under the French great.

“It feels unreal. Although it's their B-team, it feels amazing to me and it is a fantastic place to develop as a player, and the coach is Zinedine Zidane, it is wonderful.”

Markkanen joined AIK in January this year on a three-year contract and scored three goals in 10 appearances for the club.
