Leeds United boss David Hockaday has insisted that his club need to improve after two disappointing friendly performances last week.

The Peacocks were held to a 2-2 draw by Chesterfield on Saturday, a result that followed their disappointing 2-0 loss against Mansfield Town on 22nd.

And with the gruelling English Championship season just about to begin, Hockaday is under pressure to get his team back on track in order to start the season on a positive note. Indeed, the former Forest Green Rovers boss has ordered improvement across the board.

“We have got to improve”, the 56-year-old told his club's official site.

"There is loads to improve on, we know that.

“We are going to roll our sleeves up and work hard."

Leeds will be travelling to Swindon Town tonight and Hockaday hopes that his team will put up a better performance during the match, concentrating on ball retention, which might be able to cause problems for their opponents.

"If we pass the ball and move off the ball I think that we will cause teams a lot of problems.

"It is all about ball retention", the former Hull City player added.
