Barcelona sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta has been alerted by Borussia Dortmund's failure to agree a new contract with Marco Reus and is now keeping the Germany international in mind for next summer.

Reus, who has also been linked with a who's who of European football, including Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Liverpool, has a release clause in his contract which is valid for next summer and set at €35m.

Dortmund have been in talks with Reus to remove the clause, offering to increase his salary from €5m per year to €7m per year. However, they have failed to thrash out an agreement.

According to Spanish daily El Mundo Deportivo, Zubizarreta has been following proceedings closely from Barcelona's training base in England.

And Reus has been added to the club's list of targets for 2015, with €35m considered a bargain fee to secure the Germany midfielder.
