Steve Bruce insists that Hull City have taken giant strides since being promoted to the Premier League in 2012.

Hull made their first appearance in the FA Cup final last season and are going to make their European debut tonight against Slovakian outfit AS Trencin in a Europa League qualifier.

Bruce took over as manager of the Tigers towards the end of the 2011/12 season and guided them back into the Premier League.

"It's gone as well as anyone could have hoped it would go”, Bruce told the club’s official site.

The former Manchester United defender feels that the club have come a long way in the last two years with their performances on the pitch.

He further added that with the quality of players in the squad, the club will continue to grow in the future.

“To be promoted, stay up and have the ability to buy people like Jake Livermore, Tom Huddlestone, Nikica Jelavic, the list goes on. I didn't think that would be possible two years ago.

"To get into a FA Cup final and into Europe, it's been a wonderful couple of years. Long may it continue."
